HIH Prince Luiz of Orléans-Braganza, who was de jure Emperor Luiz I of Brazil, passed away yesterday on July 15th, 2022, after being hospitalized for roughly a month in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
President Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil and the Minister of Foreign Affairs signed a decree that declared a day of mourning which would take effect immediately after the issuance of the decree on the 15th until the end of the day on the 16th.
May HIH rest in peace, may the Imperial Family and his heir HIH Prince Bertrand of Orléans-Braganza find comfort, and may Brazil once more be lead by the noble House of Orléans-Braganza.
