I've been learning about Urban Planning some time ago, and I wanted to implement it in a New Capital City. I watched this video on How to make an Attractive City and done some research on a Project called NEOM and The City of Dubai, and I thought about implementing it into the New Capital. This new Capital of America will encompass around 777,000 acres (1,214.06 sq. mi.) s which is the same size as the State of Rhode Island. Washington D.C. is 43,737 acres in size, which is 17.765 times less than what I have in mind. This is part of the Pro-Urbanism and Anti-Suburbia/Anti-Suburban Sprawl ideology of the United Monarchist Party of America. You may not like the idea I have, but it's very much what I have in mind:
Think about the cities of Europe, maybe even Ancient Rome. They are beautiful but Europe is far more willing to reduce the use of Cars in the cities because the amount of CO2 Emissions the Cars pollute in the world. Spain has Superblocks, and The Netherlands made their cities and towns a lot more friendly to bikes, and other forms of Transportation than cars.
Celebration, Florida, A Former Disney-Owned Town, has Implemented a concept called Neo-traditionalism or New Urbanism, which is an Urban Planning Practice that understands and realizes that Suburbs did more to harm our sense of Community than it did to help. It was an idea that going back to before Suburbs harmed our sense of community and scaling everything down. City Districts within walking distance so that going shopping or out to eat didn't mean driving anywhere, smaller plots of land that emphasize on the front yard rather than the back yard, so that neighbors are MORE INCLINED to socialize with one another.
NEOM was a project developed in Saudi Arabia by the Crown Prince. It embraces futuristic technology in terms of ambitious Projects: The Line, The Oxagon, Trojena, all those Projects were the ideas of a Royal Monarch. NEOM is an ambitious project right now, even for the 2020s.
Let's also look at Dubai. Dubai eventually came to be by The Al Maktoum Dynasty. In 2002, Shiekh Mohamoud Bin Rashid Al Maktoum allowed Foreigners to own Land, which turn Dubai into ONE of the BIGGEST real estate markets in the world, and Architectural firms and Business bought their most ambitious projects to Dubai.
Despite the Ambitious New Capital idea, it's best to mostly take after Mainland Western European Cities, which limit the use of Cars and cuts down on Carbon Emissions. If America wants to please both the Right and the Left, we have to compromise on a New Capital. While we are Pro-Capitalism (Which is NOT a Problem in my opinion), I do believe the MORE Social change we bring to America as a Constitutional Monarchy, The More people would like a Monarchy in America. I do believe building a New Capital City is a great idea overall.
